Dr. Hegazy is a senior consultant cardiologist and professor of Medicine. He started his medical career by obtaining his medical degree from Ain Sham University. He then obtained a master’s degree from Suez Canal University. Dr. Hegazy then travelled to the United States, where he did further training and practice in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. After his fellowship in the USA, he obtained a doctorate degree from Suez Canal University in Ismailia, Egypt. In the year 1998, he then moved to KSA, where he joined King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center as a Cardiologist, where he rose to consultant level. Dr. Hegazy then joined Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Center as Director of Cath Lab and Intervention. Due to his excellence in the field, he was further promoted during his stay at Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Center. In 2010, Dr. Hegazy moved back to Egypt and was appointed Chairman of Cardiology at Suez Canal University College of Medicine. He founded Ismailia Cardiac Center in 2012, with a focus on creating more accessible healthcare for the north eastern Egyptian region. This became the first private tertiary cardiac institution in this region. He currently practices medicine while serving as ICC’s Managing Director. He is also a Professor of Cardiology at Suez Canal University. Dr. Hegazy has numerous international awards and recognitions and has published over 700 articles and abstracts. He holds the American Board of Echocardiography and has been practicing medicine for over 30 years. He is a member of more than 30 international scientific societies i.e. American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, and the American Heart Association. He is married and has five children. Dr. Hegazy enjoys gardening, reading, and playing soccer.
